IIT-JEE (Main)
JEE Main exam is conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency). Students who are in 10+2/ passed out can appear in this exam. The mode of examination is “Computer Based Test”(CBT) only except for B.Arch, drawing test will be held in “Pen & Papers” (Offline) mode.
JEE Main has two papers (Paper 1 & Paper 2). The candidates may choose either one or both of them. Both the papers are of multiple-choice questions pattern.
Exam Details
Paper 1 is for admission to B.E./B.Tech courses and are conducted in all four sessions. Each subject will have two sections. Section A will be MCQs and Section B contain questions whose answer are to be filled as a numerical value. Also No Negative Marking in Section B. The exam duration is of 3 hours and the total number of questions is 90. 4 marks will be awarded for every correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for incorrect answers.
Paper-2 is for admission in B.Arch and B.Planning courses and is conducted offline in the month of February and May. Each subject will have two sections. Section A will be MCQs and Section B contain questions whose answer are to be filled as a numerical value. Also No Negative Marking in Section B. Exam duration is 3.5 hours and the total number of questions are 82 and 105 in B. Arch and B. Planning respectively. 4 marks will be awarded for every correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for incorrect answers
JEE MAIN HIGHLIGHTS
JEE MAIN exam pattern is revised in 2021 for B. E/ B. Tech courses. In this year, the total number of questions will be 90 from all subjects carrying 300 marks.
Each subject will have 20 MCQs and 10 Numerical Value Questions. You have to answer total of 25 questions from each subject. Out of 10 Numerical Value Questions, only 5 have to be done.
In the year 2020, a total of 6.35 lakh candidates were appeared in JEE MAIN (source: Ministry of Education).
